Face to Faith Endorsed by the NCSS
19 Mar 2015
The Tony Blair Faith Foundation's global schools program, Face to Faith, has received an official endorsement from the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS). We believe our schools program can be a vital part of social studies teaching and we are delighted to get the support of the NCSS.
In the US and in other countries around the world social studies educators play a vital role in teaching students the knowledge, skills and values young people need to fulfill the duties of citizenship.
Face to Faith gives young people the skills to interact with one another in an open-minded and mutually respectful way, helping create a global generation that is at ease with difference. Our Essentials of Dialogue module helps young people become global citizens in this rapidly changing world. It provides students, aged 12-17, with the dialogue skills to deal with the differences between diverse and sometimes conflicting worldviews.
Founded in 1921, the National Council for the Social Studies has grown to be the largest association in the United States devoted solely to social studies education. NCSS engages and supports educators in strengthening and advocating social studies across the US and internationally. Organized into a network of more than 110 affiliated state, local, and regional councils and associated groups, the NCSS membership represents K-12 classroom teachers, college and university faculty members, curriculum designers and specialists, social studies supervisors, and leaders in the various disciplines that constitute the social studies.
